We are passionate and inspired by creative innovation of motorsport. From the beginning it has been an experiment, exploring ways to formulate a vision of using a unique material to make eyewear, drawn from our desire of high attention to detail and adrenaline fuelled ideas.
Starting from an idea to a project. From a project to a prototype. From a prototype to a product. From our first product to our first collection. It has been a journey and it is these journeys that inspire us to want to keep evolving, keep experimenting and stay detail driven.

We were founded by former racing driver Dean Stirling, with the idea coming from upcycling a used race worn Jabroc skid plank from the iconic 2004 Nasamax LMP1 Le Mans car into sunglasses.
Pioneering a new material
The wood we use to craft our frames from was Initially developed for Formula One in 1994 for safety reasons and is in fact a composite wood, and is known as ‘Jabroc’. Since then, it is used on all modern-day racing cars to control the ride height level of the cars on track.
Our wood is extremely strong. It is half the strength of steel, but only 20% of its weight.
It is made using a similar process that is used to make carbon fibre. Using high pressure, heat, a specialist resign and aerospace approved birch wood the composite wood is formed. Producing an extremely durable and hard-wearing material.
We are the first to produce eyewear from it.

HAND CRAFTED
The human touch is always admired and from the start our frames have always been hand made, so you can be sure your frames are one of a kind.
Our sleek and slender eyewear designs are developed through a well explored crafting process that took eighteen months of exploration before getting it right and another twelve months of trial and error to produce our paint processes for the latest Edition frames.
Through research, ideation, prototyping, design and development, we utilise design tools to design and create the products that have a presence unique to Jabrock. We like to do it our way.

We use the highest quality CR39 polarised lenses with full UVA/UVB protection and anti-reflective coatings to give you the best experience when wearing our sunglasses.
Technically, this means they restrict the vibrations of transverse light waves wholly or partially to one direction. Put simply, they reduce glare, especially around water or reflective surfaces giving supreme definition in sunny environments.
Anti-Reflective coatings are applied to the inner side of the lenses to stop light reflecting off the inside of the lenses and into your eye. Our lenses have different colour AR coatings to match the filter of the lens.
